Version
1.32: Feurio! CD-Manager: - Translation
of Help-Files finished
With this version, the translation of the English help-files is totally finished!
- Improved ability to run under Windows 2000:
>From now on, Feurio! also works in DeviceIOControl under Windows 2000, i.
e. without an installed ASPI driver.
- "Done" dialog improved:
Because of the "foreground window" management of Windows 98/2000, the switch
"Bring window to top" only works if Feurio CD-Manager is the top window. This
causes the "Done" dialog to appear in the background if another program is the
active window (meaning the "Done" dialog can be easily overlooked). To prevent
this Ive added an additional switch to "Program parameters - "Done" dialog: "Always
show dialog as topmost window". If this switch is set, the "Done" dialog will
ALWAYS appear in front of all other windows.
Further on, Feurio! can also be instructed here to show the read error message
as the topmost window.
- CDDB online database improved:
The CDDB online database has been improved:
Feurio! can now automatically establish an Internet connection via the Dial-Up
Network, request the CD and hang up immediately.
If a CD is found in the CDDB online database, the CD directory is now refreshed
automatically.
The "CD not recognized properly" dialog will not (by request) appear any longer,
if the CD was identified very well (this can result in false entries as well)
- Project parameters dialog changed:
Often Feurio! is accused of being too complex. Therefore we have re-designed
the project parameters dialog. For a normal call-up, the dialog now only shows
a few parameters, the advanced settings are only displayed by clicking the "details"
button. The pause setting has been simplified as well. The dialog now offers
3 standard pause settings (e. g. no pauses, 2 seconds pause) and a "used-defined"
switch. In "user-defined" mode the pauses can be defined exactly (as before).
- Function: "Decompress tracks" improved:
If the function "Decompress tracks" is used, now the same dialog as for "Compress
tracks" is called up (of course without the functions only relevant for "Compress
tracks"). Thus it is now possible to select whether the original files are to
be deleted and to decompress the files to a certain directory.
- Function: "Compress tracks" improved:
At "Compress tracks" (producing MP3 files) it is now possible to select another
project or in particular a harddisk folder as a target for the files. By entering
a harddisk folder a) the target can be selected more precisely and b) the adding
of a counter to the file name normally required will now be unnecessary. This
mode is especially useful if the MP3 files are to be e. g. burned to a data CD
or transferred to an MP3 player later.
- Database view improved:
If a CD is edited in the database, the database view automatically returns to
the last selected album.
- Comment on speed steps added:
Now an additional comment on the speed steps can be entered. The comment appears
in the speed selection box. This way e. g. the reading rate really reached and
the CAV mode can be displayed.
- Speed step "<MAX>" added:
An additional entry "MAX" has been added to the speed selection. By selecting
this speed step, the CD-ROM is instructed to read the data as fast as possible.
- Dump tracks directly to specified path:
The "Copy tracks" dialog has been extended like this so that the files do not
necessarily have to be copied to a project (as before), but can also be copied
directly to a specified path. For this, click the "Details" button several times
until the item "Store tracks to path" appears - select this option, enter the
path and after which track the file(s) shall be inserted -> Done!
With this method it is also possible to produce MP3 files without copying the
source files to a project first.
- Speed test improved:
The speed test at Program -> Program parameters -> Device parameters ->
Feedback has been improved. Now it dumps not only the average rate but also the
minimum and maximum rate.
- Odds and ends:
Creating a project automatically at start-up if no project is present can now
be disabled.
Version 1.31
- Program paths selectable:
You can now select the paths where Feurio! is to store the user data (e. g.
project files, cover files, databases) under Program -> Program parameters
-> Program paths.
- Program parameter -> Special parameters -> Special
parameters (2) added:
Again some special options for certain CD-ROMs have been added to the special
parameters dialog.
This especially concerns CD-ROMs that have got problems with reading the CDs
directory and CD-ROMs that cause a buffer underrun if a CD is burned and another
CD is ejected.
- Compress with Windows® codec: Quick mode implemented:
If the professional version of a MP3 codec is installed, the "quick mode" of
the codec can now be activated too. The codec will compress much faster in "quick
mode" but the quality will be worse.
- Translation of Help-Files (nearly) finished
With this version, the translation of the English help-files is 99 percent finished.
- Odds and ends:
The columns of the project selection can now be sorted by clicking on the column
headings.
- Error corrections:
At the restart of the Feurio!® CD-Manager now (like in previous versions)
the last project worked on is selected.
MP3 bit rate display corrected:
Under certain circumstances, an incorrect bit rate was displayed after the 1st
scan of a MP3 file -> fixed.
Copying tracks with Drag & Drop:
If a track was copied before the first track of a project, the track was copied
into the project as the last track -> fixed.
Pre-selecting files from cdplayer.ini caused a crash -> fixed.
Compress tracks, mode: "Overwrite tracks, delete source files after compressing"
and "Shutdown computer" didnt work correctly (source files havent been deleted)
-> fixed.
Special commands -> Executing "Correct vowel mutations" automatically caused
"Correct capitalization" -> fixed.
Feurio! CD-Writer: - Translation
of Help-Files finished
With this version, the translation of the English help-files is totally finished!
- No more ASPI driver required in Windows 2000:
From now on Feurio! also works in DeviceIOControl under Windows 2000, i. e.
without an installed ASPI driver.

The following CD-Writers are now supported, too:
Plexwriter 12/4/32 (incl. CD-Text)

CD-TEXT for Mitsumi 4804 implemented
Aopen CRW 9624

Samsung CD-R/RW 206 (incl. CD-TEXT) (without guarantee)
Goldstar CED-8042B (without guarantee)
This drive is supported without guarantee. Unfortunately Goldstar was not
able to make a test model and documentation available to us, despite being asked
to do so. Due to lack of support from the manufacturer, we cannot guarantee that
it will work correctly with Feurio!®. At the moment we strongly advise you
against buying this writer when using Feurio!®!
- Odds and ends:
Changed "Override CD-Text":
The switch "Override CD-Text" has been deleted from the global parameter menu.
It is now found on the CD-Writer settings menu ("Info" -> "Settings") and
can be set separately for each writer.
Changed CD-Text tab:
From now on the tab "CD-Text" will only be displayed if a CD-Text capable CD-Writer
is selected AND CD-Text data is available.
Program Parameters -> CD-Copy -> "Send stop command to CD-ROM after read
process is finished"
From now on it can be configured if Feurio! sends a "stop" command to the CD-ROM
after the read process is finished. For advantages and disadvantages please see:
"Program Parameters - CD-Copy.
Improved database accessibility:
If a CD is edited in Feurio! CD-Manager the new CD data is from now on displayed
immediately (you dont have to click "Update" anymore)!
- Error corrections:
Problems with building CD-Images containing index marks with the CD-Writer TEAC
CD-R55S --> fixed
Small error corrections in Feurio! for the following CD-Writers:
Yamaha 4261 / 8424
These writer were not detected in version 1.30 - unfortunately we do not have
test models of these writers, so we were not able to try this out!
