Feurio Questions & Answers - Explanation of Terminology:
Track

A CD consists of at least one track. A CD can be split up into several tracks; on audio CDs each piece of music is usually stored as its own "track".
On an audio CD player, every track can then be accessed directly.
A CD can contain a maximum of 99 tracks. A data CD usually only has one data track; the individual files are saved in internal structures of the track.
Normally a CD always starts with track 1. However, according to the CD standard, it is also possible to start a CD with e.g. track 20. The following tracks have to be numbered in ascending order and consecutively (i.e. you are not allowed to "leave a track out") and the highest track number may be 99 maximum.
In practice however this does not happen - although we have come across a 3CD album in which CD 1 contains tracks 1-17 (quite normal), CD2 then contains tracks 18-34 and CD3 tracks 35-52.
As this is very "unusual", many CD players and CD-ROMs have problems with CDs like this which do not start with track 1 - which is why Feurio!® does not support creating CDs of this kind.
A track must be a minimum of 4 seconds long.
A track can be subdivided again into several "Indices".
