Feurio Questions & Answers - General questions
on Feurio:
Does Feurio!® work with other burner programs?
Question: I want to install other burner programs - will there be any problems?
Does Feurio!® disrupt the other programs?
Answer: - Feurio does not install any of its own drivers or system expansions
- so Feurio!® will not cause any problems. Feurio!® can therefore not
be made responsible if another program no longer works (I have often received
mails of this kind).
- Unfortunately some other programs are not this "nice". Many programs install
their own drivers, some of which then have so many errors that they prevent it
being possible to work correctly with Feurio!
In general the following applies: if a program installs other drivers and if
there are then problems, then you should delete/rename these drivers (can be
found in Windows 95/98 in the folder "Windows/System/Iosubsys, in Windows NT
under System control -> devices), and then re-install the ASPI driver.
Notes on special programs: - WinOnCD:
The drivers of WinOnCD® have caused lots f problems. According to CeQuadrat®
the error has now been removed. To install the new drivers an updated driver
for your CD burner has to be downloaded from the CeQuadrat® Homepage and
installed., this will install the new drivers which are no longer supposed to
cause problems. If in doubt, just delete the drivers installed by WinOnCD®
(files C2xxxxx.vcd in the folder Windows/System/IoSubsys) - WinOnCD also works
WITHOUT these drivers if a correct ASPI driver is installed.
Note: After installing WinOnCD® you are best to re-install the ASPI drivers!
- Nero®:
Nero® installs a small driver responsible for DIE burners and temporary deactivation
of the "Auto-Insert-Notification". AS a general rule this driver (NeroCd95.vxd)
does not cause any problems. If it does: Delete this driver.
- CdrWin®:
CdrWin® does not install any of its own drivers and therefore do not cause
any problems.
- Packet-Writing Programs (DirectCD®, PacketCD®, FloppyCD®)
Unfortunately these programs often cause quite some problems as they do not leave
the burner "in peace" if Feurio! wants to burn a CD.
For this reason you should remove the CD burner from the list of writers used
by the program (just while burning with Feurio!®) (look in the program instructions
on how to do this), for PacketCD® e.g.: in the Windows®-Explorer call
up the context menu of the letter of the CD writer (click with right mouse key),
there under "Properties" select the index card "Device" and then mark the field
"Exclude from PacketCD" and then click "Accept"/"OK".
Other possibility: "close down" the respective process, i.e. (for Windows®
95/9: Press Ctrl-Alt-Del, select the Task of the Packet-Writing Software and
select "End Task" or under Windows® NT end the task via the Task-Manager
(Select Task, press "End process").
